You know you are doing too much karate if....

•You find yourself casually standing in a half cat stance.
•You trip, go into a roll and come up in a fighting stance. In church.
•You answer Ussss. To your boss.
•You are introduced to someone and you bow to greet them.
•You tie your bathrobe belt in a perfect knot; then check to make sure the ends are exactly even.
•You accept change from the cashier using a knife hand with the thumb carefully tucked in.
•When you're outside doing gardening you practice with all the neat 'weapons'.
•You look for new accommodation based on the amount of practice space it provides (who needs a bedroom?).
•You find yourself practicing bo techniques in miniature with your pencil during dull meetings.
•You notice you never stand with your arms crossed or your hands in your pockets.
•You find yourself practicing stances while standing in lines. Strangely, most people are standing cautiously far, far away from you.
•You don't use any tools while splitting firewood.

Excellent list.

I've heard another one before: kekomi-ing the fridge door shut. I never do that, of course. (It's always a mawashi geri.)

Great list, and I'm guilty of a few. I close most drawers, doors, cupboards with various kicks and punches, and never come at me when I have a broom in my hand! I have invented many new moves (most are more lethal to me).

I did try and open a cardboard box of beer with a Nukite, last Sunday, (well, it did have one of those perforated areas on the top)......I missed the perforation and instead hit the top of a bottle of beer and bent my middle finger nail back so far down that it bled......another 'ouch'. Morale of the story......beer is bad for you!.....but did numb the pain a little.

There is one thing I've done that isn't on there though. I sometimes bow when I enter a room. Yes it is embarrassing when everyone just stares at you like you are some kind of mental maniac who should be put on a leash. But you feel a sense of pride and honour. 🙂

I went on a training course and at the end had to have a photo taken by quite a short fellow. When he asked me to bend down I immediately dropped into kiba dachi!...

Start ironing your gi's in kiba dachi or back stances... dry the dishes in similar fashion... and yes.. bowing when entering a room is a very normal thing to do.. 🙂
